Missouri defensive lineman arrested
Missouri football sophomore defensive lineman Jimmy Burge was arrested Saturday for drinking alcohol while driving, according to Columbia Police Department arrest records. This is the fifth time this semester police have arrested a member of the Tiger football program.
Three other players and one assistant coach were arrested for driving while intoxicated in August. Former senior tailback Derrick Washington was arrested for deviate sexual assault and third-degree domestic violence. Washington has been permanently suspended from the team.
Safety Jasper Simmons was suspended for three games last week. Coach Gary Pinkel said Simmons' suspension was for "team disciplinary reasons" and not any legal troubles.
