Columbia resident arrested for possession of child pornography

Columbia resident Max Boneta was arrested March 16 for possession of child pornography, a Boone County Sheriff's Department news release stated.

US Department of Homeland Security-Customs and Immigration Enforcement and Mid-Missouri Internet Crimes Task Force worked with Boone County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and the Missouri State Technical and Assistance Team to investigate, charge and arrest Boneta, the news release stated.

Boneta’s activities first drew the attention of Homeland Security in 2008, and a year later, on April 2, Kansas City Office of US Homeland Security-Customs and Immigration Enforcement and the internet crimes task force searched his home and found photographs of naked children, the news release stated.

According to the news release, the attorney’s office officially charged Boneta on March 15 and arrested the suspect at his place of employment the following day.
