Sobriety checkpoint results
Saturday, the Columbia Police Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint at Forum Blvd. near Katy Lane. A total of 354 vehicles were stopped during the checkpoint, a CPD news release stated.
Police made three arrests for suspicion of driving while intoxicated, three for driving under suspension or revocation, one for unlawful use of a weapon and one for marijuana.
The department also issued warnings during the checkpoint: nine for failing to use a seatbelt and 59 for lack of insurance, the news release stated. Officers also cited seven other non-hazardous moving violations.
