Man shot near Stadium and Ash
Columbia Police Department Sgt. Bruce Houston confirmed a 19-year-old man was shot near the Tiger Village Apartments on Friday evening.
Houston said the victim, who was shot in the foot, has been released from the hospital. Police have not made any arrests at this time, he said.
Detectives with the department's Investigative Division are currently following leads and conducting interviews, a CPD news release stated.
After hearing gunfire near the Michaels around 6 p.m., a Phillips 66 employee who wished to remain anonymous said a white SUV drove across Stadium Blvd. to the gas station. Two police officers stopped the vehicle and additional officers soon arrived at the station.
"We had to lock down the store -- no one in or out," the source said.
A CPD car then followed as the white SUV was towed away from the gas station.
