Missing man last seen near campus
Police are still looking for a man who has been missing since May 28 after he was released from University Hospital.
Edward Acosta, 46, was reported missing on May 30. He was last seen May 28, when he was released from University Hospital at about 10 p.m., Columbia Police Department spokeswoman Jessie Haden said in an e-mail.
Investigators recently learned Acosta was seen on foot near the Hampton Inn on Stadium Boulevard after being released from the hospital, Haden said.
Acosta was waiting for a friend to give him a ride home to Laqey, Mo. and indicated he would wait overnight at the VA Hospital. Haden said there is no record of Acosta being at the VA Hospital. When his friend arrived, Acosta could not be located.
The police department has released this picture of Acosta who is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds.
