Downtown business burglarized
A business located on Ninth Street was burglarized earlier this week, according to the Columbia Police Department. On Monday, TNT Designs employees told investigators someone forced open the business' door and stole money.
The burglary happened sometime after the store closed at 8 p.m. on Sunday, CPD spokeswoman Jessie Haden said in an e-mail. The burglary was discovered at about 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
Haden said students might be able to help with the investigation.
"Many university students frequent the downtown area and someone may have seen suspicious activity around the business during this timeframe," she said in the e-mail.
