Police see spike in bike thefts near campus
The Columbia Police Department is asking students to lock up their bicycles due to a recent string of thefts.
Between May 3 and June 5, five bikes were reported stolen near campus, CPD spokeswoman Jessie Haden said in an e-mail. These thefts were reported on University Avenue and in downtown Columbia.
"Please bring your bicycles inside, if possible, and if they're outside, lock them up," Haden said.
