Columbia man arrested after incident in SW Columbia

The Boone County Sheriff's Department arrested a man Thursday morning after receiving a report of disturbance in southwest Columbia, according to a press release from the department.
Damoris Pierce, 18, of Columbia, was arrested at about 10:50 a.m. Thursday in the 500 block of Chris Drive on suspicion of first-degree burglary, second-degree domestic assault, three-degree assault and property damage. He also had a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of operating a vehicle without a valid driver's license
Police said Pierce had been involved in a physical and verbal fight with a female accquaintance at a house on Chris Drive and was asked to leave the house. They said he then returned and climbed through a window, but was maced by the woman, who also threw things at him. A 14-year-old child was also in the house at the time and also threw things at Pierce. Pierece threw things back and struck the child in the arm, leaving a small laceration.
Pierce's bond for the warrant was $216.50. His bond for the other charges was $39,500. He was still listed as being in custody at press time.
