Derrick Washington arrested for domestic assault
A spokesman for the Boone County Jail confirmed suspended football player Derrick Washington was arrested for third-degree domestic assault Sunday morning. He has since been released on $1,000 bond.
Washington was charged with felony deviate sexual assault in late August. On June 19, Washington allegedly assaulted a woman at Campus View Apartments. His arraignment for that case is set for Sept. 22.
Washington has been permanently suspended from the football team, but was allowed to keep his athletic scholarship.
