Student arrested after fight
Student Cameron Craney was arrested on multiple charges Thursday morning at Wolpers residence hall.
Capt. Brian Weimer said officers responded to a report of a very intoxicated student fighting with his roommate around 3:45 a.m. Thursday. When the police arrived, Craney fought with MUPD officers. He head-butted officers after being forcibly restrained, and was charged with third-degree assault on a law enforcement officer.
Craney was taken to the MUPD station, and Weimer said Craney was told multiple times not to call 911. Despite the officers’ warnings, Craney called 911, and was then charged with misuse of an emergency service.
In addition to third-degree assault on law enforcement and misuse of an emergency service, Craney was charged with third-degree domestic assault and violation of liquor laws by underage consumption.
