Trespasser suspected in Tiger Ave. sexual assault
Police responded to the Delta Upsilon fraternity chapter house this weekend concerning a sexual assault, according to the Columbia Police Department dispatch log. The suspect in this case is not a member of the fraternity.
CPD spokeswoman Jessie Haden said the suspect was at the house and refused to leave. One of the fraternity members went to get assistance to remove him from the premise.
"When he returned, the man was gone and they thought he had left," Haden wrote. "Actually, he had snuck inside."
The suspect is described as being five feet seven inches to five feet eight inches tall, of medium build and having a close haircut.
Haden said the suspect was forcibly removed from the house when people discovered him inside.
"The fraternity has been very helpful and none of its members are suspected of wrongdoing," Haden wrote.

When I clicked on this link, I was expecting the rumors of the rape at DU to be confirmed. There have been reports of the sexual assault that took place at a fraternity recently, however, they did not name the actual fraternity. Rumors spread that DU was the unidentified fraternity. As it turns out, that was correct. However, the problem is that so many people believe the rumors that "a DU raped a girl" without thinking twice. Once they see the headline to this article, it only confirms the rumors to them, and many won't read the actual article. You have done Delta Upsilon, the IFC fraternity of the year, a giant disservice.

Actually I'm not a Brother of Delta Upsilon. I'm an alumnus of and donor to the University. I am a Brother of another house on campus, however, and realize that anything negative towards any member of Greek Life impacts us ALL negatively. Additionally, I feel impressed to sat that, based on your language and lack of tact, I'm sure whatever chapter you're a part of is a great fraternal organization.

John, just like you said it is called a GOSSIP WEBSITE. You are very ignorant to think every post on that website is an actual DU member "talking themselves up". The fact that MyGreekGossip is your source to hear about this situation is laughable. Your post is just as bad as any of those posted on that website. Your ignorance amazes me.

Maneater, you need to watch your storyline titles. The article title only, which is all that appears on your tweets, and is all that will be read by half of the people perusing your publication, leads people to believe that this chapter and its members WERE directly involved in the assault. This is in such poor taste and unethical journalism.
