Police arrest suspect in Jefferson Street shooting
At about 6 p.m. on Friday, Columbia police officers went to 1108 N. Eighth St. to find Jermell Burnett, who is a suspect in the Thursday shooting on the 1000 block of Jefferson St. He was arrested and upon the search of his residence, officers found durg paraphernalia and cocaine, a Columbia Police Department news release stated.
Burnett was arrested on suspicion of four counts of armed criminal action, four counts of first-degree assault, felony and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and a municipal warrant.
