Car shot more than five times on I-70
Police are investigating a Tuesday night shooting at the Interstate-70 and Highway 63 connector.
According to a Columbia Police Department news release, the victim, who was not injured during the shooting, told investigators he passed a black Dodge Ram style truck that was driving in the left lane. He then heard a loud noise and one of his car windows shattered. He also saw debris at the front of his car. The victim told police the suspect then exited at Providence Road.
The victim drove his car to Primose Drive and called police. Upon inspection of the vehicle, investigators saw damage on the left side of the car, including numerous rounds starting at the rear quarter panel and going to the front hood of the vehicle. Officers determined there were approximately seven to eight holes caused by gunfire on the car, the news release stated.
