Wright sentenced to 30 years for Doisy murder
Johnny Wright was sentenced to 30 years in jail Monday for the murder of former MU student Becky Doisy in 1976.
During the hearing, 13th Circuit Court Judge Gary Oxenhandler heard a victim impact statement from the victim's younger sister Kathy Doisy. Wright's attorney Cleveland Tyson argued 15 years was a more appropriate sentence for his client.
Wright was found guilty of second-degree murder on January 28 by a unanimous verdict.
