UM system introduces new eLearning portal
UM system Board of Curators Chairwoman Judith Haggard introduced a demonstration of a new UM system eLearning portal.
The new portal would tie resources and tools from all four UM campuses to a single UM system site. Prospective students would have access to course lists and school resources, all presented from one searchable site.
Potential students would be able to see live class listings, with current openings, teacher bios and video introductions to courses from teachers explaining homework and grading of the specific course.
Students will also have access to campus specific sites, will more search options.
The site is in it's first few weeks of development and Phase 1 is expected to launch in March (spring break). Phase 2 will launch next summer or fall.
