While much of the focus will be on tonight's Alamo Bowl Showdown between Missouri and Northwestern, the Tiger wrestling squad will also be competing at Northwestern in the Midlands Tournament. Coach Brian Smith said that the Midlands Tournament is as tough, if not tougher, than the NCAA tournament.

Three of the top five teams in the nation are competing today in Missouri, Iowa and Iowa State. None of the lower weight Missouri wrestlers are seeded, but four Missouri wrestlers in junior Nick Marable, senior Raymond Jordan, junior Max Askren and junior Mark Ellis are seeded No. 2 in their respective weight classes. Senior Michael Chandler is seeded No. 3 at 157 pounds.

Jordan and Askren are carrying perfect records on the season thus far. Jordan is 15-0, while Askren is 12-0.
