Day one results
After the first day of action at the Midlands tournament, Missouri stands in third place behind Iowa and Iowa State. The Tigers are currently in front of several top-10 teams, so overall, it was a successful first day. Seniors Nick Marable and Max Askren, as well as sophomores Dom Bradley and Dorian Henderson, are still undefeated and will wrestle in the semi-finals.
Marable wil have a key match, as he faces No. 1 seed and defending national runner-up, Andrew Howe of Wisconsin. Askren will face John Dego of Illinois, an opponent he defeated earlier this season. Henderson will face Central Michigan's Ben Bennett, and Bradley will face Central Michigan's Jarod Trice.
Missouri's defending national champion, Mark Ellis, lost last night to Iowa State's David Zabriskie 5-4.
