Game review: Missouri posts shutout
Final score: Missouri 14, Iowa State 0.
Missouri held on for the shutout in Ames, Iowa and wound the clock down in the final minutes. The Tigers will keep the Field Phone Trophy that defines the rivalry.
The 14-0 win is their second shutout of the year and their first on the road. It is also a school record 39th win for the Missouri senior class, passing up the mark set by last year's senior class.
Iowa State had multiple chances to score but they missed both their field goal tries and had some big drops in the loss. The Tigers improve to 9-2 on the season.

Cyclones answer with their own fake punt
Iowa State says, "Anything you can do, I can do better" as they run their own fake punt play here in the fourth quarter.
The coaching staff made a gutsy call inside their own 20-yard line with the fake punt-pass for the first down.
The Cyclones trail by 14 midway through the fourth quarter.
Madison forces fumble
Iowa State posts another scoreless drive as they neared scoring territory before Jerome Tiller fumbled on a scramble.
Sophomore defensive end Brad Madison forced the fumble recovered by Jarrell Harrison for the Tigers first takeaway of the game.
Tigers take over with eleven minutes left in the game.
Touchdown Tigers
The fake punt at midfield paid off, as the Tigers finished off the drive with a one-yard touchdown plunge by junior tailback De'Vion Moore. Moore leads the Missouri tailbacks with 32 rushing yards tonight.
Tigers now lead 14-0 at the start of the fourth quarter.
Tigers convert on fake punt
Instead of punting for the fifth time today, Coach Pinkel drew up a fake punt play for the Tigers. Senior punter Matt Grabner took the punt snap and took off upfield for the first down near midfield for the Tigers.
The play makes the Tigers two-for-two on fake punts this season.
Missouri now threatens in Iowa State territory as the third quarter nears a close.
Cyclones miss another chance
The Missouri defense showed Iowa State why they have the second best red zone defense in the nation, as they stalled them on their first trip to the red zone.
The Cyclones got inside the 20-yard line on a big pass from sophomore quarterback Jerome Tiller, but the Tigers stopped them on three downs. Iowa State then missed a chip shot, 27-yard field goal for their second missed field goal of the game.
Tigers lead 7-0 midway through the third quarter.
Halftime update
Slow start in Ames for both sides in this one, as the Tigers lead an uneventful contest 7-0 at halftime.
Neither team has a turnover, but they have done little with the ball. Missouri has punted four times and Iowa State three times in the first thirty minutes.
Neither team has more than 170 yards of total offense, as Missouri has just 92 passing yards and 76 rushing yards. Iowa State has just 145 total yards.
A few wasted opportunities for each may explain the low score. The Tigers failed to put points on the board during two trips within the Cyclones' 40-yard line. Iowa State also missed an early field goal try, their only chance at any points in this one.
The Tigers will receive to start the second half.
Slow second quarter for both sides
Lots of action for both punt teams in this second quarter. After Egnew's touchdown neither team has threatened to score for the entire second quarter.
Iowa State has just punted for the third time. Missouri takes over with 2:17 left in the first half.
Egnew puts the Tigers on the board
Gabbert and company drove 80 yards for the touchdown near the end of the first quarter. Junior tight end Michael Egnew made a fingertip grab in the corner of the end zone for his fourth receiving touchdown of the year.
Tigers lead 7-0 with under two minutes left in the opening quarter.
Missed opportunity for Iowa State
Iowa State missed a shot at the scoreboard with five minutes left in the first quarter. The Cyclones missed a 36-yard field goal wide left to end their scoring drive.
The Tigers take over at their own 20-yard line.
