Kansas ends half on 20-4 run

No tags for this entry.

As the first half wound down, Kansas showed why it's one of the best teams in the nation.

As Missouri went stagnant from the floor, the Jayhawks smelled blood and went on the attack. Going off on a 20-4 run, KU ended the half with a 40-24 lead over MU.

Senior guard Sherron Collins put an exclamation mark on the sequence with a layup as the clock wound to zero. It's Collins and junior center Cole Aldrich leading the way for Kansas, as Aldrich already has 10 points and eight rebounds.

As for the Tigers, any momentum from a strong start to this game evaporated as they shot 34.4 percent from the field and couldn't seem to buy a bucket in the last minutes of the half.

For MU to get back into this one, a shot of offense is desperately needed. Another run like Kansas had at the end of the first half and this one will be over quick.
