Pregame thoughts
In a rivalry such as the one that exists between Missouri and Kansas, few things on the court are known for certain before tipoff. But one thing guaranteed to be here at Mizzou Arena is energy. Energy from the players and energy from the crowd.
The Missouri student section was at capacity about 40 minutes before tipoff and was cheering every move by Missouri while booing every step by a Kansas player.
Missouri will be honoring seniors J.T. Tiller, Zaire Taylor and Keith Ramsey before the game starts and it's sure to get emotion running pretty high. Add that to the fact this game is the Border Showdown, after all, and look for Missouri to come out on all cylinders today.
In addition to bragging rights, the Tigers are fighting for a higher seed in next week's Big 12 Tournament. The myriad scenarios could give you a headache, but just keep in mind Missouri is looking to get a top-four seed and first-round bye. Right now MU is in a three-way tie with Texas A&M and Baylor at 10-5 in conference play.
