Missouri takes sloppy first set
Missouri started slow and didn't exactly end strong, but the Tigers jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a 25-18 first set victory.
It's been a fairly quiet start for the crowd at the Hearnes Center, and that low volume appeared to equal low intensity early in the first set. In a generally sloppy opening to the set, Missouri and Colorado traded side outs for the match's first 11 points.
Missouri did not lead until a block-kill put the Tigers up 12-11. After that point, Missouri stormed out to leads as wide as 10 points.
However, Missouri didn't finish on the best note. Leading 24-14, Colorado was able to save four consecutive set points before a Weiwen Wang kill finally put away the set.
