Tigers make statement with opening win
The lights of the Edward Jones Dome have long been shut off but today's performance by the Tigers won't soon be forgotten.
Coming into the game with a chip on their shoulder, the Tigers came out and dominated an Illinois team that many thought was superior in many aspects.
Gabbert's debut as starting quarterback was impressive and the Tiger defensive attack stifled Juice Williams. Not many people saw this coming.
What are we to take from this victory?
Well, like any season opener, its hard to tell how a team will fare after just one game. But, if Gabbert and the defense play like they did today on a consistent basis, this Missouri team may just sneak up on a few people.
That is, if anyone hasn't noticed already.
