Missouri Narrows the Lead
The Tigers scored their first touchdown of the game on a one-yard rush by tailback Derrick Washington. The touchdown cut the Jayhawks' lead to 14-10.
Missouri started the drive on Kansas' five-yard line after Jacquies Smith stripped the ball from Dezmon Briscoe, and Carl Gettis recovered it. Gettis took the ball to the five-yard line, where Blaine Gabbert and the offense took over. Gabbert got the first touch and ran the ball to the one-yard line. Washington got the next chance, but was stopped. On the third play of the drive, Washington broke through for the touchdown.
