Grant Ressel kicked a 43-yard field goal to give Missouri their first points of the game. His field goal narrowed Kansas' lead to 7-3.

The Tigers drove the ball 51 yards mostly on the legs of sophomore quarterback Blaine Gabbert, who had runs of 30 and two yards. Senior wide receiver Danario Alexander added a 10-yard run as well. But on thrid and four, Gabbert's pass to sophomore wide receiver Jerrell Jackson fell incomplete in the end zone.
