Game review: Missouri takes Border Showdown

The Missouri Tigers downed the Kansas Jayhawks in the 2010 Border Showdown, 35-7.

The Tigers won the turnover battle, grabbing three interceptions in the win. The offense racked up a season-high five rushing touchdowns.

Missouri finishes the season 10-2 overall and 6-2 in conference play. Those numbers put them atop the Big 12 North standings but behind Nebraska who accounted for one of those two losses.

The 10-win season is just the fourth in school history.

Tigers pour it on, lead 35-7

De'Vion Moore punched in Missouri's fifth rushing touchdown of the game to extend their lead to 35-7 late in the fourth quarter.

A faint smile could be seen on the face of Coach Gary Pinkel on the sideline as his boys are on their way to a 10-win season.

Third interception for Tigers

Webb and the Kansas offense just turned the ball over for the third time in the game with their second straight interception.

Senior cornerback Carl Gettis made the pick for his second of the season. His return will put the Tiger offense near midfield with 6:39 left in the game.

Missouri leads 28-7.

Harrison grabs second Tiger interception

Senior safety Jarrell Harrison grabbed a tipped ball for his first interception of the year here in the fourth quarter of their final regular season game.

The interception play drew a lot of penalties for the Tiger defense on the return, putting them at their own 14-yard line.

Kansas quarterback Jordan Webb has now thrown two interceptions and has just 45 passing yards.

Gabbert extends Tiger lead

The Tigers answered the Jayhawks first score with their fourth touchdown of the afternoon. Gabbert scored on a quarterback sneak from a few feet out.

Missouri leads 28-7 near the end of the third quarter.

Kansas on the board

The Jayhawks took advantage of the favorable field position following their second half interception, driving 46 yards for the score. Freshman James Sims rushed 3 yards for the touchdown.

Missouri's lead is now 21-7 with 5:42 left in the third quarter.

Gabbert throws second interception

Blaine Gabbert threw his second interception of the day on Missouri's first drive of the second half. It is Gabbert's seventh interception of the season.

Kansas takes over in Missouri territory after the interception return.

Halftime update

The Tigers came out fast, scoring on three of their first four drives. All three touchdowns came on the ground, as tailbacks De'Vion Moore and Kendial Lawrence as well as receiver T.J. Moe all punched one in.

After getting out to the 21-0 lead early, Missouri slowed down in the second quarter. A red zone turnover and a pair of punts helped to slow down the offense.

Kansas continues to struggle on offense after missing their only chance at some points on a 42-yard field goal try. The Jayhawks have just 72 total yards of offense.

Kansas will receive to start the second half down 21-0.

Gabbert picked off at goal line

The Tiger offense entered the red zone yet again before Gabbert was picked off near the goal line. The junior quarterback forced a pass to a covered receiver and ended up paying for it.

Kansas takes over deep in their own territory with a little over three minutes left in the first half.

Missouri still leads 21-0.

Missouri defense records the takeaway

After Missouri extended the lead to 21-0, senior linebacker and Kansas-native Andrew Gachkar nabbed his second interception of the season on the ensuing Jayhawk drive.

Nine different players on the stellar Missouri defense have made an interception this season.
