Defense stepping up big

MU was unable to capitalize on its momentum on its next offensive possession. The MU defense looks like a different unit this half. On this drive, they held KU to a second straight three-and-out.

On this next drive for Missouri, Daniel threw his second pick of the game. The defense stepped up once again though, forcing another Kansas punt. There are now 11 minutes remaining and MU trails by three.

Teams trade scores

Kansas came out strong on its opening drive of the second half, scoring a touchdown on a 19 yard run by Jake Sharp.

Daniel and the MU offense responded when Daniel hit Maclin for a 26-yard touchdown. MU went for the two point conversion and failed when Daniel overthrew Danario Alexander in the corner of the endzone.

Kansas now leads by 10 points. If Missouri expects to come back in this game, the defense will need to step up. So far, the KU offense has scored at will.

On the ensuing drive, Kansas scored when Reesing hit senior wide receiver Dexton Fields for a 25-yard touchdown pass.

Missouri ended the half on a 48-yard field goal by senior kicker Jeff Wolfert to go into halftime down 19-10.
