Game review

Missouri coasts to a 50-6 victory in their home opener at Faurot Field. The Tigers were in command from the opening kickoff and improve to 2-0 on the year.

Highlighting the scoring for the Tigers was true freshman tailback Henry Josey, who ran for three touchdowns.

Gabbert threw for 220 yards of 26-of-31 passing with one touchdown.

Coach Gary Pinkel was able to give multiple backups some playing time in the blowout, with second and third string players stepping in as early as the third quarter.

Next up for the Tigers is a home matchup with San Diego State next Saturday at 6 p.m.

Backup offense turns ball over

A botched handoff and fumble by the Missouri offense gives the ball back to the Cowboys at the Tiger 45-yard line.

Missouri still leads 50-6 with under four minutes to play.

McNeese State gets on the board

The Cowboys finally put together a scoring drive with twelve minutes left in the game, connecting on a touchdown pass in the corner of the end zone. They were the first points allowed by the Tiger defense in five quarters of play.

The extra point attempt hit the upright and missed, making the score 50-6.

James Franklin takes it to the house

Up 43, Missouri put in freshman quarterback James Franklin for the third quarter drive. Franklin put together a 40-yard scoring drive with the backup offense and capped it with an eight-yard run for his first career touchdown.

The Tigers now lead 50-0 with under a minute left in the third quarter.

Fumbles on both sides

Missouri fumbled on the second play of their drive after Gachkar's interception. McNeese State matched them with equally poor ball protection, fumbling for their second time.

The Tigers take over at the McNeese State 40-yard line.

Another interception for Missouri

Senior linebacker Andrew Gachkar picked off a pass across the middle for his first career interception and Missouri's third interception of the day.

That number matches the defense's performance in week one when they recorded three interceptions against Illinois.

Missouri takes over from midfield with six minutes remaining in the third quarter.

Junior strong safety Kenji Jackson stops a promising Cowboy drive with Missouri's second interception of the day. The pick is Jackson's second of the season.

Gabbert connected with junior wide receiver Jerrell Jackson in the corner of the end zone for the 24-yard touchdown pass.

The McNeese State defense held the Tigers after the blocked punt, resulting in a 32-yard field goal by Ressel.
