Hoehn loses, Chandler wins
Hoehn's overtime success turned on him in the second round, as he lost 7-5 in double overtime to Kent State's Kent Lashaway. Hoehn was extremely jumpy in this match, and that is not his usual style. That could be the nerves still coming in.
Chandler came out and dominated No. 11 seed Cal Poly's Chase Pemi. After a scoreless first period, Chandler scored a reversal, followed by nearfall to win 6-0.
