H&M a sartorial success

All right. If you guys have read my writing, you know how big of an H&M fanatic I am. The reasons I stand by it are simple: high fashion clothes with modernized vintage classics, impeccably fitting clothing and vivacious quirks fill the store. The main reason I worship their fashion prowess? It’s stylish—and cheap!

I’m a sucker for outfits in which outlandish pieces some together seamlessly. Case in point, Look Two of the H&M’s S/S collection. A solid blue oxford shirt, color-blocked cardigan, plaid pants and, to complete the look, heather gray suede ankle boots. If you’re a smart guy who’s willing to mix and match a bit, you’ll absolutely go for this look.

The cool thing about H&M is that it ties in many eclectic elements from different designers into it’s own story and it’s own twist. The modernist vibes of some of these looks are reminiscent of Japanese design houses like Issey Miyake and Yohji Yamamoto. Clean-cut Calvin Klein is apparent, as well as rough-around-the-edges John Galliano. Always expect bold from H&M, whether that bold is in the form of an extensively extensive dyed scarf or a man-skirt. Choose your poison.

I’m telling you, guys and gals, try it out. Sure, it’s a large store. Sure, it can be a little overwhelming. Get over it! Your opportunities for sartorial success are endless upon setting foot in this store. Maybe a suede jacket with fringe on the shoulders isn’t quite your forté. The feeling is mutual. But we can admire the fact that H&M is willing to produce kooky pieces that dare the average man to stand out.

Check out H&M's new spring and summer collections.
