Boyce Watkins, a professor from Syracuse University, speaks on Thursday in his lecture, The Great Black Depression, in Waters Auditorium. Watkins stressed the importance of education in minority communities.
LGBTQ community remembers suicide victims
Gay pride flags hang from lamp posts around the Carnahan Quad and 1,752 red flags represent how many suicides have resulted from discrimination of the LGBTQ community in the past year. The Triangle Coalition placed the flags to raise awareness and rally for a change in attitude toward the LGBTQ as a part of Pride Month.
