Missouri pulls ahead quickly
Just over a minute into play and John Calipari has called a timeout. Missouri had a nice start. After winning the jump, senior forward Leo Lyons missed a 15-footer, but junior guard Zaire Taylor was under the hoop for the put back.
That's exactly what Missouri needs to do -- crash the boards. It's good to see the little guy doing work under there. Missouri's defense went on to fluster Memphis and forced a poor shot.
In transition senior froward DeMarre Carroll found senior guard Matt Lawrence left alone in the corner. Lawrence nailed the 3-pointer to put Missouri up 5-0.
There's been a very strange stop and go pace so far. It seems like there's been a break between every play and there has only been a minute of action.
