Actors campaign for Obama
Three actors will use their star power to urge young people to vote in the upcoming presidential election today on the MU campus.
Taye Diggs, Idina Menzel and Aisha Tyler will speak at 4 p.m. on Lowry Mall, asking students to vote for Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill.
Diggs is best known for his roles in the Broadway musical Rent and the motion picture How Stella Got Her Groove Back.
Menzel also achieved fame in Broadway's Rent and with her role of the Wicked Witch in the musical Wicked.
Tyler is a well-known actress, stand-up comedian and writer.
The three stars will encourage students to register to vote in Missouri and volunteer for the Obama campaign.
The deadline to register in Missouri is Oct. 8.
