Alabama called for McCain

Alabama has been called for John McCain, according to CNN, NBC, CBS News, ABC News, Fox News and RealClearPolitics.com. The win will yield another nine electoral votes for McCain.

News outlets have been giving conflicting reports of the current totals. The Associated Press CNN currently has Obama ahead with 52 percent of the vote and 1 percent of precincts reporting, but called the state for McCain just before 8 p.m. CST.
