Candidates in the 9th District Congressional race will have to wait a little longer for a winner to be projected. The New York Times has called every Missouri District race except for the still close race between Republican Blaine Luetkemeyer and Democrat Judy Baker.

As of now, Missouri will send four Republicans and four Democrats to Washington, D.C., according to the Times. All statistics are courtesy of the Secretary of State Web site:

Republicans:

  • Todd Akin, Missouri 2nd District, with 62.3 percent of the vote in favor of Akin and 368 of 380 precincts reporting
  • Sam Graves, Missouri 6th District, with 61.2 percent of the vote in favor of Graves and 354 of 450 precincts reporting
  • Roy Blunt, Missouri 7th District, with 67.7 percent of the vote in favor of Blunt and 276 of 288 precincts reporting
  • Jo Ann Emerson, Missouri 8th District, with 71.3 percent of the vote in favor of Emerson and 420 of 476 precincts reporting

Democrats:

  • William Lacy Clay, Missouri 1st District, with 85.7 percent of the vote in favor of Clay and 325 of 373 precincts reporting
  • Russ Carnahan, Missouri 3rd District, with 65.7 percent of the vote in favor of Carnahan and 303 of 325 precincts reporting
  • Ike Skelton, Missouri 4th District, with 66.1 percent of the vote in favor of Skelton and 394 of 419 precincts reporting
  • Emanuel Cleaver II, Missouri 5th District, with 66.8 percent of the vote in favor of Cleaver and 279 of 351 precincts reporting

As of right now, Missouri has equal representation from both parties in Congress, including a senator from each party. The 9th District race could tip the balance of party representation from Missouri in Washington, depending on who wins.

The Times has Luetkemeyer leading Baker, 50 percent to 48 percent, a slight deviation from the numbers on the Secretary of State's Web site, which has Luetkemeyer with 50.7 percent of the vote and Baker with 46.9 percent, with 440 of 468 precincts reporting.
