Several statewide races remain too close to call
Although Missouri's gubernatorial election has gone to Democrat Jay Nixon, a number of other state-wide races remain too close to call as of yet.
The attorney general’s race is the closest, with only .4 percent seperating Democrat Chris Koster, who holds 50.2 percent, and Republican Mike Gibbons, who has 49.8 percent of the vote.
Missouri’s state treasurer race is also close. Republican Brad Lager maintains a three-point percentage lead over Democrat Clint Zweifel, with the race now at 50 percent to 47 percent.
Republican candidate for lieutenant governor Peter Kinder, who is the incumbent, maintains a strong lead over Democratic opponent Sam Page, with a 53.1 to 44 percent lead. A Kinder victory would mean Missouri would be governed by a governor and lieutenant governor from different parties for the first time since 1993.
Democrat Robin Carnahan holds a significant lead over Republican opponent Mitchell Hubbard in the secretary of state race, carrying 59.8 percent of the state’s vote compared to Hubbard’s 37.5 percent.
