Three Dem candidates from Columbia in the lead
The 24th House District race between incumbent Rep. Ed Robb, R-Columbia, and Democratic candidate Chris Kelly has been the most expensive race for the House in Missouri’s history.
Meet Patti DeMarco, the woman behind Kelly’s campaign fundraising.
“She’s marvelous,” Kelly said. “She has been absolutely vital, and we could not have fought against Ed Robb’s negative campaign commercials.”
DeMarco, an employee of Starwood Enterprises, also works for several other local Democratic campaigns.
With DeMarco, Kelly has raised over $225,000 from over 1,000 contributions.
DeMarco said she could attribute the fundraising success to Chris Kelly’s merits as a politician.
“It’s been easy because he’s a good candidate,” DeMarco said of Kelly. “He made my job easy because he’s the best candidate you could have.”
At the moment, three of DeMarco’s clients: Chuck Graham, D-Columbia, Cathy Richards and Kelly, are leading in the polls.
Kelly, however, said the current precincts reporting are just absentee votes, and it is too soon to declare a winner.
