Schaefer Wins in the 19th District
Republican Kurt Schaefer defeated incumbent Chuck Graham for Missouri's 19th Senate district seat.
Republican Kurt Schaefer is the victor of the 19th District in the Senate. He gave his victory speech at Stoney Creek Inn in Columbia, Mo.
In the 115 precincts, Schaefer carried 48.5% of the vote and Democrat Chuck Graham carried 46.8 percent. There was not a clear victor in the race until every precinct had reported.
Schaefer won the Senate seat with 38,620 votes compared to incumbent Graham's 38,232 votes.
Graham, when he heard that Schaefer declared himself the victor, went out to his car and began hitting something. Although his precise actions could not be seen, he was clearly physically expressing his anger.
Currently, Judy Baker is conceding her race at the Tiger Hotel, but Graham is nowhere to be seen
