Nixon official subpoenaed
It's nice to see that there is no love lost between Nixon and Blunt, because Blunt's office announced yesterday that Nixon spokesmen Scott Holste is being subpoenaed over potentially destroying emails.
The investigation stems from comments that Holste made to the Associated Press back in 2007 in which Holste admitted to destroying emails while he was an attorney for the state of Missouri.
The subpoena comes after a previous attempt to dispose Holste was rejected on Tuesday by Cole County Circuit Judge Richard Callahan.
"The case against Scott Holste is very serious as he and others in Attorney General Nixon's office may have knowingly and willingly violated the open records law when they destroyed these e-mail records," Gov. Blunt's press secretary Jessica Robinson said in a press release. "At the very least Mr. Holste has admitted to destroying e-mail records in the Attorney General's office. We want Mr. Holste to answer the same questions this office has answered as we have been proven correct and the accusations against this office proven false."
