Who throws a shoe?
Random Task
President George Bush showed some quick moves yesterday when he dodged flying shoes thrown by an Iraqi journalist at a meeting to discuss a security agreement between the U.S. and Iraq.
In a show of international cooperation, Iraqi President Nuri Kamal al-Maliki raised a hand to block the shoes from hitting Bush. The shoes were hurled by the journalist while he called Bush a "dog", and subsequently thereafter, he was taken down by security at the event.
The incident surely elicited some chuckles across America, where the shoe is usually seen as one of the most comical projectiles of choice.
However, in Iraq, throwing a shoe at someone is a grave insult. Since the incident, anti-American demonstrations have erupted across Iraq.
This incident merely begs the question, which Politics Watch shall pose to you, how do you think future generations will view the handling of the Iraq war during the Bush years?
