9th District candidates release statements for 9/11

Both Republican Blaine Luetkemeyer and Democrat Judy Baker, who are running for the U.S. 9th Congressional District seat, have released statements about 9/11.

Luetkemeyer's statement:

“Today is a solemn day in which we pay tribute to the innocent Americans who lost their lives to the evils of terrorism seven years ago in New York City, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C. The events of that horrific day are a reminder that we must continue to fight those who even now seek to do us harm. By remaining strong in defense of our nation at home and abroad, we honor those who lost their lives. The memories of those we lost and their families remain in all of our prayers this day.”

Baker's statement:

“Seven years ago America suffered a horrible tragedy at the hands of hateful and evil individuals. Our world has changed so much since the destruction of the Twin Towers, the attacks on the Pentagon and the hijacking of Flight 93, but our vigilance must remain strong. We must continue to insist upon implementing the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission so that no future generation will ever be witness to another breach of national security of this magnitude. John and I join all Americans in offering our prayers to those victims that still feel the pain of that fateful day, and we thank those first responders that continue the work they did not hesitate to engage in seven years ago.”
