Renee Hulshof defends husband

Kenny Hulshof's wife Renee Hulshof released a statement refuting Attorney General Jay Nixon's latest TV ad. Hulshof said Nixon adheres to the old political playbook “dictating that you trash your opponent as often as possible,” stated the news release. Republican U.S. Rep. Kenny Hulshof is facing Democrat Nixon in the race to replace Gov. Matt Blunt.

Nixon's ad says Kenny Hulshof supports "the same old politics," which Renee Hulshof said is untrue.

In a recent TV ad, Nixon refuted Kenny Hulshof's claims about the economy continuing to be strong. In the news release, Renee Hulshof said at the time Kenny Hulshof was correct because 3,300 new jobs were created in January 2008 in Missouri. Renee Hulshof said Kenny Hulshof's comments were taken out of context and if they had been put in context, they would have been correct.
