Page gets the support of state law enforcement

Sam Page, the Democratic candidate for lieutenant governor, received the endorsement of all three of the state’s law enforcement organizations with the announcement of the Missouri Deputy Sheriff's Association’s support last week.

Page had previously captured the backing of the Missouri Fraternal Order of Police and the Eastern Missouri Coalition of Police.

The official support of the Deputy Sheriff’s Association was announced after the group’s board of directors voted unanimously to back the nominee at their meeting on Sept. 11.

“We had a lengthy discussion with Mr. Page and he laid out his goals for what he wanted to do as lieutenant governor,” said Lieutenant David Boehm, President of the Deputy Sheriff’s Association. “His thoughts and goals lined up with our own. They’re very similar.”

Boehm works with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department

The association is comprised of over 1,000 members throughout the state. Most are certified police officers.

“The goal of the association is to increase the professionalism of the role of deputy sheriff,” Boehm said. “We also try to support quality legislation like DWI laws.”

The Missouri Fraternal Order of Police and the Eastern Missouri Coalition of Police have over 5,000 members.
