Howard Dean speaks on campus

Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean leads a Register for Change rally on campus this morning. Dean spoke to about 200 supporters, encouraging them to join efforts to register new Democratic voters ahead of the presidential election.

Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean visited the MU campus this morning to spread Sen. Barack Obama's, D-Ill., message of change. The rally, called Register for Change, was held across the street from Tiger Fountain. Dean spoke to a group of students and community members about the things they can do for the Democratic Party.

"It's so great to see so many college students out at 10 in the morning on a Saturday," Dean said. "We're not going to win without you."

Rick Puig, Young Democrats of Missouri president, introduced Dean. Puig also stressed the importance of young people in the upcoming election.

Dean's appearance was his second-to-last stop on the Register for Change tour. The tour concludes this afternoon at St. Louis University.
