Mo. congresswoman named to Palin's 'Truth Squad'
The McCain campaign annouced today that it would assemble a "Truth Squad" of Republican lawmakers across the country to counter attacks made against vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin.
According to a release from the camp, U.S. Rep. JoAnn Emerson, R-Mo., who represents the state's 8th District, is one of the legislators named to the group, who would issue media alerts and statements to reporters and voters in "the event of false attacks, rumors and smears" against the first term Alaska governor.
Missouri's 8th District is located in the southeast corner of the state, and includes Cape Girardeau and Rolla.
