The airport, which offers flights to Memphis International Airport, began service in Aug. 19.

According to a news release, the airport had the highest loads out of Mesaba's top five airports. The release stated that the number of enplanements, or number of passengers boarding the planes for October was 2,095 passengers, 1,990 passengers for November and 2,016 passengers for December. Previous commercial service at the airport reported an average monthly enplanement for the last six months of service as 497.
