Carnahan announces bid for U.S. Senate
Missouri Sec. of State Robin Carnahan [announced] (http://www.robincarnahan.com/) today that she will run for the U.S. Senate in 2010.
She made the announcement through a YouTube video in which she stressed her accomplishments as Secretary of State.
Carnahan, who won her last re-election battle handily over Mitch Hubbard in 2008, was widely expected to run for Senate and is not expected to face a difficult Democratic primary challenge.
The Republican field, on the other hand, is far more [unsettled] (http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0109/17260.html). Rumored candidates include former U.S. Sen. Jim Talent, U.S. Rep. Roy Blunt, and former State Treasurer Sarah Steelman.
