Filing Day in Jefferson City
Election year has officially begun for state offices in Missouri.
Tuesday was the first day to file for offices and potential candidates have until March 30 to register. In Columbia, Democratic Representatives Mary Still, Chris Kelly and Stephen Webber have all filed for reelection. Only Kelly faces a challenger thus far.
Fifth Ward Councilwoman Laura Nauser filed for the election to 24th district seat, held by Kelly. Nauser is running as a Republican. No other challengers have filed yet.
According to the Missouri Secretary of State Web site, all candidates for the Missouri House of Representatives must be at least 25 years old, be a resident of Missouri and they must be a U.S. citizen.
