Third Ward Councilman Karl Skala advances in National League of Cities
The National League of Cities advanced Third Ward Councilman Karl Skala to their gold level March 14 in the organization’s Certificate of Achievement Leadership program.
Skala is one of less than 200 NLC members to be granted the gold level, an honor given to a local city official once they earn 50 credits in all five of the core competency areas of municipal leadership, according to a news release. The NLC’s Leadership Training Council created the Certificate of Achievement Leadership program in 1999 to recognize excellence in the members of NLC. Skala was awarded the silver level in March 2009.
Gary Kespohl is running against Skala for the Third War council seat. Elections will be held on April 6.
