Mayoral candidate O'Day endorses Sullivan for the job
Mayoral candidate Sean O'Day has officially endorsed candidate Sid Sullivan for the position. In a letter to The Maneater, O'Day, 23, said Sullivan is the candidate to vote for this Tuesday. Here is the full text of the letter:
"I entered the race for mayor of Columbia in January for one reason: because I care deeply about the future of this city," he wrote. "Daily I have come into contact with citizens greatly concerned with the future of this city and I am grateful for this experience. I’ve also come to more fully understand the forces at work in the politics of Columbia. It is with this in mind that I have decided to officially announce my full support and endorsement of Sid Sullivan. This community demands an effective and accountable leader. When it comes to balancing liberty and security, Sid Sullivan is the candidate to vote for this Tuesday, April 6th. When it comes to planning the future growth of our city, Sid Sullivan is the candidate to vote for on April 6th. When it comes to accountable leadership, Sid Sullivan is the candidate to vote for April 6th. Regardless of who is elected I look forward to serving this community to the best of my ability. Right now that is by campaigning to elect Sid Sullivan as our next mayor."
There are six candidates, including O'Day and Sullivan, running for mayor and election day is April 6.
