Introduction to Missouri football

All-American Jeremy Maclin is a player to watch in 2008.

If you haven’t been following Missouri football your entire life, you’ve got a lot to learn. This program is unlike any other. It can be both brilliant and mind boggling. Here are the ins and outs of Tiger football:

-The spread offense is not a game plan, it’s a lifestyle. It can be fourth and one on the opponent’s one-yard line, and senior quarterback Chase Daniel will still not line up directly under center. While this situation is incredibly irritating, the spread offense can also be thrilling to watch. It’s fast paced and efficient. Daniel will consistently work the middle of the field by utilizing senior tight end Chase Coffman, and then beat the defense over the top with the blazing speed of sophomore wide receiver Jeremy Maclin.

-Jeremy Maclin is the most exciting player in college football. Maclin can do it all. He will return punts and kickoffs for touchdowns, score as a wide receiver and even take a couple of reverse hand offs to the house. Every single time Maclin has the ball he has the ability to get into the end zone.

-Believe it or not they play defense, too. Some of the team’s most influential leaders come from the defensive side of the ball. Junior linebacker Sean Weatherspoon has a big personality, and he makes even bigger plays on the field. Weatherspoon seems like the perfect fit to take over as the defense leader from former defensive tackle Lorenzo Williams. If the big boys can clog up the middle watch out for the linebackers and secondary to be flying all over the field making monstrous hits.
